Ingredients:
- 250 ml plant-based milk (e.g. almond, oat, or soy milk)
- 45 g rolled oats, crushed
- 1 tbsp La Vida Vegan chocolate spread
- ½ apple, sliced
- 1 handful of blueberries
- 1 tsp chia seeds or flaxseeds (optional)
- 1–2 tsp maple syrup, honey, or agave syrup (for a touch of sweetness)
- Pinch of salt (to enhance the flavours)
- Cinnamon to taste (for added warmth and flavour)
The instructions:
- Heat the plant-based milk in a small saucepan until it begins to boil.
- Add the crushed oats to the boiling milk, reduce the heat, and let it simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the chia seeds (if using), cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Allow the mixture to cook for another minute to blend the flavours.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the maple syrup or your preferred sweetener for added flavour.
- Spoon the oatmeal into a bowl and top with a dollop of La Vida Vegan chocolate spread, apple slices, and blueberries.
- Optional: Add extra toppings, such as chopped nuts (walnuts, almonds), shredded coconut, or a dollop of plant-based yoghurt for extra creaminess.
