Vanilla Chai Hot Chocolate with Almond Butter

Ingredients:

  • 1 chai tea bag
  • 2 tbsp La Vida Vegan Almond
  • 360 ml plant-based milk
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla paste
  • ⅛ tsp ground cardamom
  • ⅛ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ⅛ tsp ground ginger
  • ⅛ tsp ground cloves

Optional toppings:

  • Plant-based whipped cream
  • Dried cranberries
  • Coconut flakes
  • Cinnamon stick, star anise, or chocolate shavings

Method:

  1. Heat the plant-based milk in a small saucepan until just below boiling. Remove from the heat, add the chai tea bag, and let steep for 10–15 minutes, depending on desired strength. Remove the tea bag.
  2. Add the cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla paste, spices, and La Vida Vegan Almond to the warm chai-infused milk.
  3. Return the pan to low heat and whisk until smooth and creamy. Do not let the mixture boil.
  4. Pour into mugs and garnish as desired with plant-based whipped cream, dried cranberries, and a sprinkle of coconut for a festive cranberry–coconut touch.
