French Toast with La Vida Vegan Hazelnut Spread 

Serves 2 
Prep time: approx. 20 minutes 

Ingredients: 
4 thick slices of rustic white bread 
2 eggs 
100 ml milk (or a plant-based alternative) 
1 tsp vanilla extract 
1 tsp ground cinnamon 
2 tbsp butter or margarine 
1 jar La Vida Vegan hazelnut spread 
Icing sugar, for dusting 

Method: 

  1. Generously spread two slices of bread with La Vida Vegan hazelnut spread. Top with the remaining slices to make two filled sandwiches. 
  1. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk, vanilla extract and ground cinnamon. 
  1. Dip the filled sandwiches into the egg mixture, making sure both sides are well coated and soaked through. 
  1. Heat the butter or margarine in a frying pan over medium heat. 
  1. Fry the French toast until golden brown and cooked through on both sides. 
  1. Cut the French toast diagonally, dust with icing sugar and serve with extra La Vida Vegan hazelnut spread. 

Tip: Delicious with sliced banana, strawberries or a spoonful of applesauce.
