Iced Gingerbread Chai

Ingredients 

For the gingerbread chai syrup: 

  • 100 g light brown sugar 
  • 120 ml water 
  • 60 ml molasses (or dark syrup) 
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon 
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg 
  • ½ tsp ground ginger 
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper 
  • ½ tsp ground cloves 
  • ½ tsp ground cardamom 

For the drink: 

  • 120 ml chai concentrate (strong brewed chai tea works too) 
  • 240 ml oat milk 
  • 200 g ice cubes (about 1 large glass) 
  • 2 tbsp La Vida Vegan Almond Spread 
  • Optional: pinch of pumpkin spice or cinnamon on top 

Instructions 

  1. Start by making the syrup: add the sugar, water, molasses and all spices to a small saucepan. 
  1. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until it thickens slightly. Let it cool. 
  1. Mix the chai syrup with 2 tbsp La Vida Vegan Almond Spread until the spread is fully dissolved. 
  1. Fill a glass with ice cubes, pour the chai mixture over the ice and stir briefly. 
  1. Then top with the oat milk. 
  1. Finish with a pinch of pumpkin spice or cinnamon.
