Choco Hummus with Strawberries and Crackers


Serves: 4 people
Prep time: 10 minutes

What you’ll need:

  • Blender or food processor
  • Spatula
  • Bowl for serving

Ingredients:

  • 1 tin chickpeas (approx. 240 g drained)
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (more to taste)
  • 2 tbsp La Vida Vegan almond spread
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract or cinnamon
  • Strawberries
  • Crackers (e.g. wholegrain or neutral flavour)
  • Optional: pretzels or apple slices

The instructions:

  1. Rinse the chickpeas well and drain.
  2. Place the chickpeas in a blender or food processor along with the cocoa powder, maple syrup, La Vida Vegan almond spread, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy. Add a splash of water or plant-based milk if needed to achieve a softer texture.
  4. Taste and adjust with more syrup or cocoa if desired.
  5. Spoon the hummus into a serving bowl and serve with strawberries, crackers, and any other dippers you like.

Serving Tip:
Garnish with a drizzle of maple syrup, a dusting of cocoa powder, or some grated dark chocolate. Serve slightly chilled for a fresher taste.
