What you’ll need:
- Blender or food processor
- Spatula
- Bowl for serving
Ingredients:
- 1 tin chickpeas (approx. 240 g drained)
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp maple syrup (more to taste)
- 2 tbsp La Vida Vegan almond spread
- Pinch of salt
- Optional: 1 tsp vanilla extract or cinnamon
- Strawberries
- Crackers (e.g. wholegrain or neutral flavour)
- Optional: pretzels or apple slices
The instructions:
- Rinse the chickpeas well and drain.
- Place the chickpeas in a blender or food processor along with the cocoa powder, maple syrup, La Vida Vegan almond spread, and a pinch of salt.
- Blend until smooth and creamy. Add a splash of water or plant-based milk if needed to achieve a softer texture.
- Taste and adjust with more syrup or cocoa if desired.
- Spoon the hummus into a serving bowl and serve with strawberries, crackers, and any other dippers you like.
Serving Tip:
Garnish with a drizzle of maple syrup, a dusting of cocoa powder, or some grated dark chocolate. Serve slightly chilled for a fresher taste.
