Sourdough Toast with Dates, Hazelnut Spread & Caramelized Banana

Preparation time: ±10–15 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of sourdough bread  
  • 4–6 soft dates (pitted)  
  • 2 tbsp La Vida Vegan hazelnut spread  
  • 1 banana (sliced)  
  • 1–2 tbsp sugar  
  • A pinch of (flaky) salt

Instructions

  1. Lightly toast the sourdough slices until golden brown.  
  2. Press the soft dates into the warm bread so they form a sticky, sweet base.  
  3. Heat a pan over medium heat and sprinkle in the sugar. Let it melt slowly into a golden caramel.  
  4. Add the banana slices to the caramel and cook briefly on both sides until soft and caramelized. Remove them from the pan and place on a piece of parchment paper.  
  5. Generously spread the La Vida Vegan hazelnut spread over the toast.  
  6. Top with the caramelized banana.  
  7. Sprinkle with a pinch of (flaky) salt for extra flavor balance. 

Tip: For extra crunch, you can add some chopped nuts.
